Water Can't Wash This Away
2024
Each image in this series represents a moment of tension between longing and resistance. The bathtub, once a place of comfort and ritual, has become a battleground. These photographs explore not just the body, but the emotions and memories it carries: a space where self-harm and trauma intersect with the desire to feel whole again; a space where past hurts bleed into the present, where every breath in the water is both a surrender and a fight to stay afloat.
This work is not about finding peace or closure. It is about living within the cycle—the feeling of being stuck. The desire to move forward, the struggle to break free, and the inevitable pull back into a familiar space. It is about trying and failing, repeating, searching for something that isn’t there. There is no resolution, no end. There is only this: being here, again and again.
